What do you love about the Greater East End and Fifth Ward? Share your favorite aspects of your community and take part in a collaborative art project spearheaded by the Highline Network. Artist Ezra Wube will lead a 5-day drop-in workshop where community members from the Greater East End and Fifth Ward will create a stop-motion animated film showcasing these historic Houston neighborhoods. Please join Buffalo Bayou Partnership and project partner Aurora to create this work to highlight your neighborhood. Location: East End Learning and Innovation Center at BakerRipley (4450 Harrisburg, Suite 102)

You can participate as much or as little as you would like, and do not need to be present for all 5 days.

SHARE: January 6 – 7

Stop by anytime for a group brainstorming session. Participants are encouraged to share their favorite landmarks or memories, and bring copies of family photos, handwritten notes, drawings, or objects that represent their communities.
Gather: January 6 – 7

CREATE: January 8 – 10

Using ideas and materials generated in the first two days, work together to create a 2-minute stop-motion animated film showcasing your favorite East End and Fifth Ward landmarks. The film you help create will be screened at Tony Marron Park on April 6.
