Thousands of children and their families will gather at Tony Marron Park in the Buffalo Bayou East to experience a full day of fun with exciting activities for all ages. This year\, we have a special ground-breaking activity as we bid a temporary farewell to Tony Marron Park before it begins construction in late 2024. DESCRIPTION:Join BBP at Tony Marron Park for the 11th Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Sunrise Prayer and Ceremonial Gathering led by the Calmecac Indigenous Organization. This sunrise observance will follow the ceremonial construction of a tipi and will honor the Buffalo nation through traditional song\, music\, and dance. All are invited to participate in a Rematriation and Four Winds Blessing led by Abuela M’api Rainflowa\, Co-founder of Calmecac Indigenous Organization\, her mother\, sisters\, and daughter followed by a walk to the bayou for an offering of flowers and herbs.
