SUMMARY:Sunrise Ceremony with the Calmecac Indigenous Organization
DESCRIPTION:Join BBP at Tony Marron Park for the 11th Annual Indigenous Peoples’ Day Sunrise Prayer and Ceremonial Gathering led by the Calmecac Indigenous Organization. This sunrise observance will follow the ceremonial construction of a tipi and will honor the Buffalo nation through traditional song\, music\, and dance. All are invited to participate in a Rematriation and Four Winds Blessing led by Abuela M’api Rainflowa\, Co-founder of Calmecac Indigenous Organization\, her mother\, sisters\, and daughter followed by a walk to the bayou for an offering of flowers and herbs. Speakers representing various Indigenous nations and groups as well as informational tables from community organizations will also be join the ceremony.  \n  \nCeremony Schedule: \n7:00am               Rematriation and Four Winds Blessing Begins\n7:30am               Walk to Buffalo Bayou and Ceremonial Offering\n8:00am              Performance by Houston Aztec Dance
