SUMMARY:NIGHT LIGHT 2023
DESCRIPTION:Image: Night Light 2022\, Timing by Julia Barbosa Landois. Photo by Julian Kane \n  \nNIGHT LIGHT is a free annual event featuring video art along the Buffalo Bayou East trails. Presented by Buffalo Bayou Partnership and Aurora Picture Show\, this year’s NIGHT LIGHT features new\, site-specific media works by Houston artists Chap Edmonson\, Jamie Robertson\, and Input Output shown along a half-mile stretch of waterfront trails. Music\, community food trucks\, and vendors will be on site at Tony Marron Park beginning at 7:30pm\, with the art works activated at 8pm. Join us for this festive\, uniquely Houston experience! (In the case of inclement weather\, this event will take place on Saturday\, April 22\, 7:30–10pm). \nPlease wear sturdy footwear suitable for uneven surfaces. Bikes are welcome\, but please come prepared to secure them during the event if necessary. \nMap of NIGHT LIGHT locations: \nParking and trail entrances are located at 808 N. DESCRIPTION:Join Buffalo Bayou Partnership for a new annual fundraising event featuring thought leaders in the fields of urban planning\, park and public space development\, and landscape design. \nThis inaugural breakfast will feature Robert Hammond\, Co-Founder and former Executive Director of Friends of the High Line\, in conversation with Mimi Swartz\, Author and Executive Editor of Texas Monthly. Individual tickets are $150 and $500. Tables for 10 guests are $2\,500 and $5\,000. \nOnline ticket sales are now closed. Please email Lmcburnett@buffalobayou.org with questions. \nParking available at The Water Works and Fonde Recreation Center. \nRobert Hammond is the President and Chief Strategy Officer for Therme Group US\, after serving for over two decades as Co-Founder and Executive Director of the High Line where he led the transformation of an abandoned elevated railway line in Manhattan into an iconic urban park. Under his leadership\, the High Line grew to become one of the most beloved public spaces in the United States\, attracting eight million annual visitors with its innovative design\, public art program\, and community programming. Inspiring adaptive reuse projects around the world\, Hammond created the High Line Network to foster community and share best practices among leaders of other infrastructure renewal projects. He was also instrumental in building youth and educational partnerships to engage young New Yorkers as environmental stewards and civic leaders. He has won over two dozen national and international awards for his work. \nA certified Vedic meditation teacher\, Hammond has served as a consultant or advisor for myriad companies and organizations\, including the Times Square Alliance\, Alliance for the Arts\, and the National Cooperative Bank. He served as an ex-officio member of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Board of Trustees\, as well as Liberty Expedia\, a formerly publicly traded travel company. He currently serves on the boards for Little Island\, Grounded Solutions Network\, and the San Antonio Museum of Art.
