SUMMARY:Summer Species: Butterfly Walk
DESCRIPTION:We’re fluttering into summer with a series of nature walks exploring this year’s Summer Species\, butterflies! Learn about local butterfly species\, life cycle\, and habitat on this discovery tour of Buffalo Bayou with Nancy Greig\, founding director of the Cockrell Butterfly Center (now retired). An avid natural historian “jack of all trades”\, she has a particular interest in native plants and insects. At home she keeps busy with a butterfly garden\, honeybee hives\, and purple martin houses. \nAdditional Information: \nMeet at Jackson Hill Bridge (on the Allen Parkway side) just east of Flora Restaurant. \nParking is recommended at the 300 block of Jackson Hill Street off Memorial Drive. More information available here. \nWalking tours are 90 minutes and cover approximately 3 miles. Comfortable clothing and good walking shoes recommended. \nRSVP

RSVP for the Butterfly Walk here. \nFlutter Fling is part of Summer Species: Butterflies\, a series that celebrates the importance of butterflies to our bayou ecosystem from May – August 2024. \nSchedule: \n9-10:30am: Butterfly Walk or Kids Craft \n10:30am: Pollinator Parade from Lost Lake to Jackson Hill Bridge \nRSVP
