The Buffalo Bayou Partnership sponsors events and encourages activity along the bayou throughout the year.

Between Shepherd Drive and the Turning Basin, there are six boat launches, 10 miles of trails, permanent and temporary artworks, and dozens of picnic areas. On any weekend, you’ll see corporations, organizations and individuals cleaning up the bayou and trails and planting new trees and native plants.

Our annual Buffalo Bayou Regatta pitches 200 canoes and kayaks all vying for first place while the comical Anything That Floats parade launches Houston’s most creative engineers and paddlers.

The Bayou Buddies, our young members organization, sponsors tree plantings twice a year as well as the famous Blues on the Bayou event in late October.

Throughout the year, we have monthly guided canoe trips down Buffalo Bayou as well as ongoing art, film and performance projects. Come join us anytime.
